Making Mud Season Count
If it’s adventure you’re after, Summit County spring has it in store. Set off on a hike taking in the snow-capped vistas. Sallie Barber Mine is a great, out and back beginner hike perfect for the whole family. Carter Park is a gateway to an extensive trail system leading all over Breckenridge. The main climb is difficult but short, and the views of town from the top are rewarding. If looking to spend some time among the peaceful pines, the Peaks Trail is a family friendly, out and back trek alongside Breckenridge Ski Resort. Be sure to bring extra water, wear lots of layers and the appropriate footwear. Trails could still be covered in snow.
If you’re looking to enjoy the spring at a faster pace, make a reservation for white water rafting with KODI Rafting, Breckenridge Whitewater, or AVA Rafting. All three offer options for all skill levels, trip types and multiple locations throughout Summit County and the surrounding areas. Each company also offers other adventure-seeking fun including zip-lining, fly fishing and horseback riding.
For those that haven’t quite gotten your fix of the slopes or just love the sun-soaked spring skiing, Arapahoe Basin continues the season into May with plenty of terrain open and live music every weekend.
Make the most of the season at an area spa with a mud mask and other relaxing services. Sol Impressions, the Spa at Breckenridge and Blue Sage Spa offer some of the highest rated services in Summit County. Many spas offer discounts during this season – be sure to ask at time of booking!
Spend your days soaking in the sun and your evenings at one of the area’s many dining options. Pick up The Breckenridge Dining Passport at the Breckenridge Welcome Center for discounts, special deals and promotions at participating area restaurants. All proceeds from this local promotion are donated back to the community through scholarships or non-profit organizations and each are valid for two people. Close out the night at the Breckenridge Distillery tasting their award-winning bourbon, vodka and spirits.
