★★★★★ Fantastic house for a our family reunion
We had family converge from all over the US, 15 of us at the peak fit quite comfortably in the many bedrooms, though the 20-somethings were a little tight in the bunk-bed room. At first we thought the elevator was a little over the top, but wound up being very glad it was there. The altitude of 9000 ft did have an effect on the many sea-level folks there. Going up and down over 3 floors with luggage etc was easy with the elevator.
The kitchen was great, completely stocked with all the features and tools you would expect at a high-end property, we did a lot of cooking there. Two dishwashers were put to much use. Large fridge was great. Plus small fridges in most bedrooms was an added bonus. The large table for us to sit around was also super. Great for eating, but not as good for playing cards or games.
The game room got a lot of use, mainly the pool table and foosball. Was great to have them there in the evening. Plus the hot tub. Lots of great places to hang out throughout the large house. Wifi worked well, though maybe not quite as fast as you might have at home. We found several hiking trails not too far away on the mountain. You can walk to the village, but being up a hill, the walk back takes a little more effort. About 30 mins.
There was no real supermarket at Copper, so shopping meant going to Frisco, about 7 miles away. Not that big a deal. We also rented kayaks on the reservoir over there, and did a rafting trip in Brown's Canyon with Kodi. 2 rafts - great guides - great time - class 2, 3. Skip renting the wetsuits or splash shirts in the summer. Way overkill.
We did have a few issues needing attention - and got extremely quick responses upon calling. One of the garbage disposals was found to be leaking. It was replaced within few hours of calling. One room was missing a shade, and that was quickly replaced. The hot tub - brand new a week earlier - had an issue with the cover rack. They were out the next morning to fix it, needed to drain the whole tub and refill it. Was all ready to go that evening.
Overall, we were very, very happy with the property. The pictures on the website do it justice. It does look just like that, perhaps even better. The common spaces are quite large and pleasing. Lots of lighting, both natural and artificial. And the master suite (the whole 3rd floor) would be a large apartment in most cities, the over-the-top shower was a big hit with lots of us.
★★★★★ The whole family was very impressed with the beauty and location of the property. It's on a private road at Copper Mountain. If you tire of Copper Mountain, you are close to Vail and Breckenridge. The house is well cared for and has all needed amenities including full size toiletries. It was very easy to check in and out.
★★★★★ My family and sisters' families (6 adults and 9 kids) stayed at Kokomo Lodge for a summer vacation. We loved the property. There was plenty of room for everyone and we all enjoyed the nice kitchen and furnishings throughout the house. We also enjoyed the location of the property, as it was central to so many great activities and beautiful towns with a reasonable drive. We would definitely recommend Kokomo Lodge and stay there again.
★★★★★ Perfect Get-Away
We had a "run away from home" weekend at Kokomo and it was everything the doctor ordered. The house was perfect and very well equipped. The kids loved the hot tub and pool table and the adults loved the open living space. We had gorgeous snow on Saturday and then warm weather the next. Watching falling stars from the hot tub late at night was my personal favorite.
Upon arrival, the house was spotless and ready to enjoy. We had trouble getting internet, and someone came by and replaced the modem within the hour.
I loved the location - up in the mountains. A world away from the city, but close enough for a run into Breckenridge for a day of goofing off.
I hope to return. I have nothing but rave reviews for this masterpiece.
Thank you, Kokomo Lodge - for giving our group the perfect mix of amenities to please old and young.
★★★★★ Amazing Property. Rented this house for a 5th annual trip with friends. Prime location with a shuttle to the lifts or ski in/ski out. Beautiful kitchen, main living area, game room, and bedrooms. Definitely considering renting again next year!!
★★★★★ Exactly what we were looking for!
We had organized a family reunion. Five couples and two kids. Kokomo lodge was perfect. Great location, great place to just hang out, relax and catch up. Gorgeous house that was not over the top. We found ourselves hanging out in the upstairs area around the kitchen the most.
★★★★★ Outstanding home for a family vacation!
Kokomo Lodge is ideal for families, with plenty of space and a homelike feel. The furnishings are lovely but functional and the property is well maintained by River Ridge Rentals. They are a first class company. The kitchen is a chef's dream! The mattresses and bedding were comfortable and there are plenty of living areas inside and out. The main master suite is the entire third floor, and the elevator made loading groceries and luggage a breeze. We will definitely stay there again.
★★★★★ Beautiful home with nice view of lumberjack lift and mountains of Copper ski resort. Great open layout of home for family reunions. The weather was perfect the end of June. Home construction next door did block view to right of home but plenty of nice views from deck and living room windows.
★★★★★ Was a wonderfull experience renting the KOKOMO Lodge . Me and my family we loved the house , was everything so clean and confotable . House is right next to the Ski Lift , and the Kitchen was great !
Overall house pleasant and nicely equipped. House was clean and furnished well. Numerous bathroom locks dysfunctional to the point where you struggle to get out of the 1/2 bathroom on main living room floor, this made guests very uncomfortable not having locks while sharing bathrooms. Maintenance told us the locks were on back order.
We had a problem with the kitchen refrigerator which was addressed quickly, even with a back up refrigerator being delivered without request - that was very nice. Overall impressed with River Ridge rentals and I would recommend as well as return to you for this property or another property in the future. Thank you.
★★★★★ Our family of Grandparents, parents and children spent a week at Kokomo Lodge. The experience was wonderful for all ages. The house was everything we needed and was a fantastic experience for our family. Everyone had space to do what they wanted to do. There were activities for everyone either at the house or in the surrounding area. Hiking, white water rafting, biking, shopping, site seeing, riding historic train and just spending time in Copper--our family from 3 to 62 enjoyed it all. The breakfasts and evening meals at the house made for memorable lifetime experiences. Thank you, I would recommend this house--you won't be disappointed.
★★★★★ Beautiful mountain setting with wonderful activities. Our young grandchildren enjoyed the bumper boats, miniature golf and other activities down in Copper Mountain and the adults in the group biked, hiked and enjoyed the hot tub. The bike ride from the summit down to Frisco is a peaceful ride! The home is 3 levels and is spacious and comfortable. We had a one year old grandchild with us and the stairways in the home were a little challenging because of his age. Our 2 1/2 year old grandchild had no problems with the stairs, however--and there is an elevator in the home. Day temps were in the 70's and the mountain air was so rejuvenating!
★★★★★ We stayed here for a week in summer 2007. My teenagers are still asking me to re-book every time we talk about going on vacation. The home is very impressive, in every way. The location is beautiful. There are as many things to do here in summer as there are in Winter, including Horseback riding just down the road, Copper Mountain ski lift runs up the mountain for hiking, exploring etc. Breckenrisge is just a short drive. The home has a great basement area that was perfect for teens, with its own living room etc. The kitchen was beautiful and perfect for large meal preperation. We would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting luxury and comfort. The only warning is be careful of the altitude sickness, we all got it right when we got out of our car on arrival and it lasted several hours so make sure you drink lots of water!
