Peaceful Family Retreat

We had a wonderful time. House was very spacious and clean. Loved the outdoor space and hot tub. We had a problem with the hot tub the first night but someone came the next day and fixed it right away! The pool table needs some work but otherwise, everything was perfect!

Arrived on 2021-09-23 | KatrinaThe location was awesome. We had some problems with the hot tub not working the first night but Aldo came out the next day and got it working for us. Property managers responded quickly to any question we had. Property was clean. There are a few things that need repaired....bumper on pool table is dead and the screen door handle was missing so it was hard to open. We loved the property though and would like to return again next year. We even had a red fox come right up to patio while we were sitting outside. Explore the area and hill behind the house, lots of neat stuff to see!

Once a year, our family across the US tries to meet and bond. White bear lodge was the perfect place for this purpose. It’s roomy, with an abundance of bedrooms and bathrooms, clean and well maintained, plenty of space for the whole family to hang out in. The stream running behind gave the perfect music score , and the hiking behind the house was a joy because of its easy access. The hot tub is perfect to massage tired bones. Its proximity to Downtown Breckinridge was a plus and we enjoyed hanging out there too. The owners were easy to work with and were responsive, considerate, and made every attempt to make our stay enjoyable and hassle free. We had everything we needed because the house was well stocked with amenities in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This property is lovely! It is about 5 min from Breckenridge and is situated so that it backs to the forest. It has a peaceful stream behind it and a bridge that easily accesses the forest trails. We stayed as a family of 5 and had plenty to do / plenty of space! It is well maintained and there are supplies for all. We used the hot tub, pool table and sauna, and took many hikes out the back door in the forest. While we were there, we did lose power due to high winds, and the management company was extremely accessible and responsive - at all hours. They even brought us bottled water. We were well taken care of and completely comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement is that the water pressure in the kitchen sink is very low and the master shower could use some updating. Truly - it was wonderful and we highly recommend it!

Honestly, I think they undervalued this place. What is not mentioned is the beautiful creek in the backyard, and the hiking trails that start just behind the creek, heading up to a gorgeous overlook and gold mine. We really enjoyed our month-long stay. The accommodations allowed us to work remotely, spread out, and still feel right at home. Just a short drive to downtown Breckenridge, and a short drive to the trial head for Quandry Peak, we had access to great adventures, great food, great beer and a great time.The management company was very responsive, and helpful.I would go there again in a heartbeat!

We absolutely loved this house! It was perfect for a get away and social distanced vacation! But also so close to downtown! This house has everything you need and was well-maintained! Our son had so much fun playing pool, going in the hot tub, and also the sauna! We saw a mother and baby moose walk through the back yard one morning, and the creek in the back is beautiful! It was nice to walk out the back door and have wonderful trails to explore! The best part was that we were able to bring our dogs to enjoy things as well! We definitely will be back to this home! We loved our stay!

The location of the house was as good as it gets. You felt secluded with the national forest behind you and were far enough out of town to feel like you were really away and off the grid. The beds (mattresses) throughout the house need updating, very uncomfortable. The floors were very dirty upon our arrival. Overall had a good experience and had a great vacation!

This house was fantastic. It is nestled in the middle of a beautiful forest with the national forest property line just up the hill. The house itself is warm and welcoming. The Kitchen is stocked with all the necessary items to cook. Whether it is with a family or multiple families, this house fits all needs! Located just outside of Breckinridge, it’s easy access to the town. The rental company is fantastic to work with and acts like a Concierge. They were just a text/phone call away. I would highly recommend this property!!

The rental company was incredibly attentive to our every need and always responded quickly. We brought 14 family members out to ski and had a great time at this beautiful home. There are lots of bedrooms and plenty of spaces to gather. The kitchen is the best stocked of any rental we have stayed at although they need a new microwave and dishwasher. The rental company said they will get on that ASAP. Lots of great memories made here!

Perfect mountain getaway

Its not just that you can go snowshoeing right out the back you actually walk 20feet over a little bridge and drop onto a really pretty hiking trail. We went snowshoeing everyday! The trail also happens to be a perfect sledding spot that you essentially have all to yourself!

What a perfect spot! We really felt secluded and peaceful and enjoyed the easy access to hiking and the main road. The kitchen was a perfect size for us and had nice pots and pans. If it would have had a large baking sheet or two that would have been helpful. The couches were in beautiful living spaces and perfect for family conversations. And the eating areas were great! Being able to bring a couple of dogs was a nice perk. Our only complaint from family members was the uncomfortable beds. So if I were to suggest something it would be to invest in some new mattresses and maybe have soft toppers available.Overall, a really great spot!

We had a great time! The house and yard was great. We appreciated the paper products. Maintenance was very responsive as was the management company.We would have liked more chairs for the deck, a kitchen faucet sprayer that worked, better towels for drying dishes, a fan in the loft bedroom, and a shelf for the grill that catches drippings. Being close to town with easy access usually means being surrounded by others. Not this home!! Sitting 30’ off the back porch next to the little stream you would think you were 30 miles from anyone. With the national forest as a back yard, and trees everywhere, you can’t see the neighbors. Well, you can, but the ones you see are the furry neighbors from the forest. We had many visits from foxes, chimpmunks, and seen our first weasel on this trip.The home was big enough for our two families of 5, with everyone getting their own bed and trim to spare. Kitchen had everything we needed and everything worked as it should. Had one small issue with hot water heater but the agency sent the service tech fast. If you are looking for a big home, with easy access to the highway, but still feel you are in the woods... look no further.

Amazing Family Vacation

We showed up, and the kids were amazed by the size ( ;) so were the adults), beauty, and entertaining space of the White Bear Lodge. While the interior of the lodge was amazing, the exterior surrounding area of the White Bear couldn't have been any better. Hiking literally right out the back door. As you step off of the back deck to head out to hike you cross a bridge over a beautiful brook. Long story short, we would stay here any time, and are thankful for our time spent here as a family.

Best rental experience ever!!
Arrived on 2016-07-22 | Tom W.July23-30, 2016 We've rented a dozen vacation homes and White Bear Lodge is equipped beyond any we've vacationed in, anywhere in the country. Everyone in our adult family are cooks and the kitchen is beyond equipped for baking, cooking, grilling, cooking on the fire pit - amazing. Besides every small and large appliance you could imagine, they even had a mandolin and microplane! The rest of the house is equally well appointed and comfortable enabling a wonderful week of hiking, fly fishing, boating, relaxing in the hot tub under the stars, and more hiking and sightseeing. Falling asleep to the babbling sounds of the brook just off the back deck is a delight. This is the first property we've rented with absolutely no deficiencies and can recommend it without any reservations.
Highly recommend
Arrived on 2016-01-01 | Jason B.The house is clean, well-maintained, well-stocked, and very nice. The heating system works very well. There was plenty of room for my large family, parents, and in-laws. The pool table got a lot of use at night. There are dozens of board games as well, so you can leave yours at home. Distance to town is about 5 miles and the drive is easy. We parked at the gondola lot (free with 4+ people in the car) and rode the gondola up to the base of the mountain to ski. From the driveway to the ski lift is about 25 minutes. Would definitely rent again if we come back to the Breck area. The only restaurant we tried was Extreme Pizza on Main (by the gondola lot), and it was excellent. Thanks for letting us stay in your home!

Especially wonderful was the back deck area where one could believe they were truly in touch with nature - the close proximity of the forest (with the wonderful smell of pine drifting through the morning air) along with the tranquility of listening to the babbling stream, not to mention a visit of a little fox, all added to a wonderful experience for my family. My family loved the house, particularly the pool table where the older girls loved learning and then beating their uncles/dads. Great House!!!

The kids loved the hot tub and game room and the adults loved it when the kids were down in the game room. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable house. Thanks again - memories that will last a lifetime.

White Bear Lodge
Arrived on 2009-09-26 | CSchoederMy husband and i spent our anniversary at White Bear last weekend. The house was very nice, secluded, and quiet but not far from town. We enjoyed a hike right out the back door on a nice trail with no one else on it, and relaxing in the hot tub on our return. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to make a fabulous dinner and the downstairs entertainment area was fun for playing pool and watching movies. Very relaxing. After arriving home in Denver my husband realized he'd left his computer at the house. He called Marvelyn and she offered to bring it to us later in the week--but then she found a friend who was coming down the next morning and offered to drop it off. It saved us a 4 hour round trip back up the mountain to retrieve it--very much appreciated. These hosts were so warm and welcoming, I just can't say enough nice things about them. We will definitely seek out their properties in the future.
White Bear Lodge
Arrived on 2008-08-06 | Orange City, IAWhite Bear Lodge was perfect for our family gathering of 14, six of them children ages 8 - 15. The lodge was spacious and beautiful, well-furnished and in a lovely spot, good access to good roads taking one into a nearby village where there are many amenities. Maintenance was very helpful and quick to respond. In the end we were fairly treated and found the owners positive and trustworthy.

White Bear Lodge has stunning panoramic views of Mt. Quandary, one of Colorado's 14'ers. This unobstructed view is enhanced by the floor to ceiling windows. The rear of the lodge backs up to National Forest, with a running stream paralleling the property no more than 20 yards away. This stream has a private bridge over it that leads to a path that will join with a National Forest trail. Truly a unique and beautiful parcel of land! This property is pet-friendly and will allow up to 2 dogs, so bring along your furry friends and let them enjoy the nature as well.
The White Bear Lodge is equally as majestic as the land. The back deck has a Bar-B-Que and an 8x8 hot tub which is great after a long day of enjoying all Summit County has to offer. This is a very private setting to view the stars.
The kitchen has cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, and black slab granite counters. There is service for 24, plenty of bake and serve ware, a blender, and other necessary appliances, like the coffee maker with a built-in grinder for your morning cup of java.
There is high-speed internet with hookup or wireless capabilities. The lower level great room has the same views of Mt. Quandary, as well as a wet bar with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. This is where the big screen TV with surround sound, cable programming, DVD, and Gamecube are. This large game room also has a pool table.
There are 5 bedrooms - 3 kings, one queen and one queen with a twin trundle and twin bunk. The loft has a couch, balcony, and 2 queen beds. There are also 2 queen air mattresses with bedding.
