Think the only thing to do in Summit County in the winter is ski? There is a lot to do when you aren’t hitting the slopes.

Cross-country Skiing

Cross-country skiing provides a great workout and an opportunity to see the backcountry. Visit any of the Nordic Centers in Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, Keystone or Copper Mountain to learn more.

Snowmobiling

If you haven’t tried snowmobiling then what are you waiting for? You can sign up for guided or unguided trips for all ability levels. Be sure to set a day aside to experience what it’s like to explore the county on 150 horsepower!

Fat Biking

Fat biking is relatively new to the region, but don’t mistake it for your traditional ride down the street. With tires twice the width of normal mountain bikes you can really test your riding skills on trails in Breckenridge. You can take guided fat bike tours with Breck Bike Guides.

Sledding

Looking for something the whole family can enjoy? Try sledding. Head over to Carter Park in Breckenridge. The park has an easy slope for the kids to navigate and offers a great view of Tenmile Range. Didn’t bring a sled? Just stop by a local store to pick some up.

Tubing

Another great family activity is tubing. Take the little ones to Frisco Adventure Park, East Village in Copper or Adventure Park in Keystone to make lasting memories.

Snowshoeing

Rent some snowshoes and make use of the snow-covered trials that litter Summit County. It’s a great workout and offers a great escape from the packed ski runs. Guided snowshoe tours are available at the Breckenridge Nordic Center.

Ice Skating

Who doesn’t like to ice skate? Summit County has numerous ice rinks and ponds you can visit and show off your figure skating moves!
