Spend this Halloween haunting Summit County! Filled with history, Summit County offers Halloween fun for all ages from a treat on Main Street to a full-on zombie takeover.

If trick-or-treating is on your list, visit Main Street in Frisco and the Frisco Historic Park. Stores with bright orange jack-o-lanterns outside will be handing out sweets between 6 - 8 pm. Halloween cartoons will be playing the Historic Park Log Chapel for those needing a candy break.

Learn about some of Frisco’s previous residents (and a few who haven’t quite left yet) with a tour of the town cemetery. The Frisco Historic Park & Museum will meet at the museum at 7 pm, October 26th. Purchase tickets in advance.

Once you’re done exploring the cemetery, take part in the Frisco Zombie Walk! Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite celebrity - in zombie form - and stop into participating restaurants along Frisco’s Main Street for spooky seasonal cocktails. If you want to explore the haunts of Summit County on your own, head to Breckenridge – you’ll find hundreds of buildings listed on the National Registration of Historic Landmarks and the ghosts that haunt them. Known as a rough and rowdy watering hole for miners in the late 1800s, the Gold Pan Saloon is one of the oldest continuously operating bars West of the Mississippi and boasts being the location of the last gunfight ever recorded in the town. Local lore says the upper floor is haunted by a miner still looking for gold. Drafts, cold spots and sounds of footsteps are common happenings at The Brown Hotel are attributed to a grizzly murder that happened in one of the upstairs rooms.
