For the 10th consecutive year, Copper Mountain Resort will host the USASA National Championships, one of the most highly regarded competitions in the world for ski and snowboard athletes. Contestants will compete in multiple disciplines, including Giant Slalom, Slalom, slopestyle, boarder/ski cross, halfpipe and rail jam and are given the opportunity to gain points towards the National Championships.

Almost 2,000 skiers and riders compete over the course of 12 days at Summit County’s Copper Mountain Resort. This is, by far, the largest snowboard and freeski competition in the world featuring many of today’s best athletes. If you’re traveling to Summit County, this is the place to be. These on-mountain competitions feature future Olympians and are not to be missed!

Competition will cause some terrain closure. Copperopolis for alpine events, Woodward Central Park for slopestyle, Fairplay for boarder and skier cross, Superpipe and Lower Bouncer for the halfpipe and rail jam competitions. Check terrain and conditions before heading out to the mountain as not all areas will be closed for the entirety of the competition.

USASA is one of the first steps to becoming a nationally ranked skier or rider, and many members go on to become US Olympians. Leading the way in the development of snowboard and freeski competition, USASA’s mission is to facilitate fun and fair events for all ages. USASA hosts over 500 events annually, encouraging athletes of all ages and experience levels to push themselves and the future of the sport.
