Spring Fever in Breckenridge

It may be time to say goodbye to the slopes, but Breckenridge knows how to end the season in style and ring in spring!

For the diehards, the ones who just can’t quite let the season go that easily, there is the Imperial Challenge. Part party, part triathlon, the Imperial Challenge brings skiers and riders from all over for one last hurrah: participants bike 6 miles from the Breckenridge Rec Center to the base of Peak 7, climb to the top of the T-Bar (2500-foot course) or the top of Peak 8 (3000-foot course) on their choice of gear, and then hit the slope for the home stretch. Winners are chosen from multiple age categories as well as an overall. Cheer athletes on as they say goodbye to the season! Register online for this April 21st event.

Dive head first into the last day of the season! Enjoy food, drinks and live music at the base of Peak 8 for the Breck Plunge pond skim event, April 22nd. Participants are awarded points for successfully skimming the pond and creativity of their outfit. Spectators will be able to access the pond on foot, lift tickets required for participants only.

If you’re ready to put winter behind you and bring on spring, make reservations with local guide services like Mountain Angler or the Colorado Angler. Both offer excellent guide services to area rivers for beginners and experts alike.

There may be plenty of spring skiing left, but be sure to set yourself up for success next season by purchasing your 2018/2019 pass early! With new pass options, multi-day discounts and perks for your friends and family, you’ll be ready to hit the slopes opening day next season!
