If you’re headed to the high country for Thanksgiving, you’ll find so much more than world-class dining! Join the Turkey Day 5k, take a tube ride at the Adventure Park or get on your skis and hit the slopes!
The 15th Annual Turkey Day 5k runs along the Summit County Recreation Path into the town of Frisco. Burn a few calories before dinner by celebrating with food, family and fun! Open to all ages, racers are invited to make a non-perishable food donation before the fun run to benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. Registration fee includes a commemorative Turkey Day 5k item and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Frisco Elementary S.T.E.M. program.
For the thrill seekers, head to the Frisco Adventure Park. The multi-lane tubing hill (a 1,200 foot run) and beginner ski and ride hills open Thanksgiving Day – perfect for working up an appetite! Both activities are serviced by an easy to use surface lift (magic carpet) so there is no hiking up the hill! Tubes are available and included in pricing. Reservations are required for the Thanksgiving holiday and weekends.
Ski season in Summit County will have officially kicked into full gear with all mountains opening prior to turkey day. Beaver Creek opens with a wide selection of terrain on Thanksgiving Day, celebrating with hot cocoa and the World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition! All opening dates can be found here but are subject to change.
Celebrate Thanksgiving by working up an appetite in Summit County style!
